Tha Bum - Featured Artist 2007

CTC Magazine and Tha Bum got a chance to meet and it was a wrap. Tha Bum grew up in the ghetto where he had to deal with many good and bad life experiences at a young age. Art was a way for him to escape and express himself. "To this day it gives me a rush to create something for the world and myself that is powerful."

CTC: Who is that girl on your myspace profile images? She is almost naked! Somebody put some pants on that girl!
THA BUM: Haha, shes just some chick my homie Dobler took a pic of in his room.

CTC: Where did you get the name THA BUM?
THA BUM: Well whos in the streets more than anybody? A bum, they live in the streets. They're the #1 in the streets. Im from the streets and my art is in the streets so it just fits together. Also no one can talk down on me because im already a dirt bag!

CTC: Did you start on some graffiti shit or did you always do a more graphic design style?
THA BUM: I've always had graffiti friends so that influence has always been there. My style though has always been the more streetart graphic style.

CTC: Who influences your work?
THA BUM: Aww man, my wife, friends. I love Urban Medium, Dothy, Obey Giant, Banksy, Family Soda, Disposable Hero and too many more to name!

CTC: What do you eat for breakfast?
THA BUM: Rockstar!

CTC: If you could be a superhero what would your power be?
THA BUM: I would want to be able to fly. I always have dreams of flying.

CTC: Have you ever had a gay experience?
THA BUM: Haha, wasnt Tony Montana asked that same question? No... Fuck No!

CTC: Putting personal feelings aside, who do you think would win in a fist fight between George Bush and Osama Bin Laden?
THA BUM: Neither until they stop butt humpin' each other. Can I say that?

CTC: Is anyone in your family an artist?
THA BUM: Yeah my great grandfather drew the OG Woody Woodpecker cartoons.
